SNAP Award: Melissa Wymer

The SNAP Award is awarded once every quarter to a staff member that goes above and beyond their expected duties. At the conclusion of the year, an additional winner is chosen from the collective nominations throughout the year. For 2021, the SNAP Award was awarded to Melissa Wymer.

Melissa has been working at Valley Community Services for four years. She serves as an Assistant Program Manager for the Remil & Autumn facilities.

Melissa was nominated by her Program Manager, Hope Selfridge. Hope says that Melissa constantly goes out of her way for the people we support and will pick up shifts to help her fellow staff. Melissa also took an individual to Nashville on a 5-day vacation so that he could travel and experience country music.

Melissa said that it is awesome to receive the award, and she said “I try to do my best to go beyond my duties to make sure that the individuals are taken care of.”

Along with receiving the award, Melissa was also awarded a Fitbit Sense.
